Polski chór w Brukseli

Chór Domino Cantes powstał w 2005 r. w Brukseli przy Sekcji Polskiej Europejskiego Centrum Katolickiego, z inicjatywy Mariana Wojciechowskiego OP. Od swojego powstania działa pod dyrekcją Kingi Rytel-Laycock. Głównym miejscem, gdzie można usłyszeć Domino Cantes jest Kościół Dominikanów przy Av. Renaissance 40 w Brukseli, gdzie zapewnia on muzyczną oprawę niedzielnej mszy o godz. 10.00.

Większość chórzystów to pracownicy instytucji europejskich i członkowie ich rodzin. Chór występował w brukselskiej katedrze pod wezwaniem św. św. Michała i Guduli, Przedstawicielstwie Polski przy Unii Europejskiej i Ambasadzie Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej przy Królestwie Belgii, a także koncertował w instytucjach unijnych i polskich przedstawicielstwach regionalnych w Brukseli.

Do najważniejszych projektów muzycznych chóru należy zaliczyć przede wszystkim dwa koncerty. Pierwszy „Polish Music Through the Ages”, odbył się z okazji polskiej prezydencji w Radzie UE w 2011 r. Drugi to koncert poświęcony pamięci osoby i dzieła Janusza Korczaka (wraz z dziecięcym międzynarodowym chórem Canto Bello także pod dyr. Kingi Rytel-Laycock) w roku 2012. Chór nagrał też dwie płyty: w 2009 r. kolędy „Przybieżeli do Betlejem” oraz „There Are No Children, Only People” w 2012 r. (z towarzyszeniem chóru dziecięcego Canto Bello).

W 2012 r. Domino Cantes otrzymał nagrodę publiczności w Konkursie „Polak Roku w Belgii", organizowanym przez Radę Polonii Belgijskiej, Ambasadę RP w Brukseli oraz organizacje Emigracja Polska i Polish Expat Network.

Polish choir in Brussels

In 2005, Domino Cantes choir was created in Brussels in the Polish Section of the European Catholic Centre on the initiative of the Dominican Father Marian Wojciechowski.
Since its creation it has been conducted by Kinga Rytel-Laycock. Most of the singers in Domino Cantes are officials of the European institutions, or members of their families.

The choir's main venue is the Dominican church at 40 Avenue de Renaissance in Brussels, where it sings at mass in Polish on Sundays at 10 a.m.

The choir has performed in Brussels Cathedral, in the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU, the Embassy of Poland to the Kingdom of Belgium and in EU institutions and the representations of some Polish regions. The choir also prepared special concert “Polish Music through the Ages” for the Presidency of Poland in the EU Council in 2011 and concerts for the Year of Janusz Korczak, the Polish-Jewish educator, in 2012 (together with the international children's choir Canto Bello, also conducted by Kinga Rytel-Laycock). The choir Domino Cantes has recorded 2 CDs: "Przybieżeli do Betlejem" (a selection of Christmas carols - 2009) and "There Are No Children, Only People" to celebrate Janusz Korczak's Year (2012, together with Canto Bello). In 2012 Domino Cantes received the Audience Award in the contest “The Pole of the Year in Belgium”.

Chorale polonaise à Bruxelles

La chorale Domino Cantes a été créé en 2005 à Bruxelles au Foyer Catholique Européen, sous le patronage du Père Marian Wojciechowski, dominicain. Le groupe est dirigé depuis son origine par Kinga Rytel-Laycock. La plupart des choristes sont fonctionnaires dans les institutions européennes ou membres de famille de ces derniers.

Son but principal est l'encadrement liturgique des messes polonaises dominicales à l'église des Dominicains, Av. de la Renaissance 40, Bruxelles, qui ont lieu chaque dimanche à 10h.

La chorale a déjà chanté à la Cathédrale de Bruxelles, à la Représentation Permanente de la Pologne auprès de l’UE, à l'Ambassade de la République de Pologne en Belgique ainsi que dans des institutions européenes et représentations de régions polonaises à Bruxelles. Elle a aussi préparé des concerts spéciaux lors de la Présidence de Pologne du Conseil de l'UE en 2011 ("La Musique polonaise à travers les siècles") et de l'année du pédagogue juif polonais Janusz Korczak en 2012 (en collaboration avec la chorale internationale d'enfants Canto Bello, également sous la direction de Kinga Rytel-Laycock). Elle a enregistré deux CDs: une collection de chants de Noël sous le titre „Przybieżeli do Betlejem” (2009) ainsi que„There Are No Children, Only People” pour l'année de Janusz Korczak (en 2012, avec Canto Bello). En 2012, Domino Cantes a reçu le prix du public dans le concours "Le Polonais de l'Année en Belgique".
